Research & Planning: Alternate scenes

Our original idea was to shoot Dan inside what would be his house. Unfortunately we have had  a lot of trouble actually finding a house. Since this was becoming a problem we discussed an alternate location. Still adding a personal element, but shooting it in a back garden.

The scene has been bullet pointed like this:

-Dan walks through the back gate into alcohol ridden garden

-Pulls out a garden chair and sits down

-Gets phone call off mother and rejects it

-Opens up his phone case and pulls out a photograph/open up his library on his phone and scrolls through photos of him and his dad. 

-Grabs a waterproof cover and uses as a blanket

-Dan begins to drift off

Another alternate scene would be to use a place of interest to our character with a personal connection. Since our character is very musical he must have been influenced from somewhere, his father. The bandstand in a park could be a place of clarity for our character. So the scene has been bullet pointed like this:
-Dan stood up in the middle of the bandstand looking up and around (silence)
-Walks to the railing and looks over the park
-Turns and slides down to the floor and sits
-He pulls out a letter from his dad
-His hands begin to shake
