In this first version of the theatrical release poster, the designers of this poster included 3 film festival logos along the top showing where the film has been premiered and where it has recognition, persuading the audience and fellow film critics to go and observe the film.
In the main theatrical release poster for Whiplash along the top is one major award that the film won at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014. This is displayed more subtly in the same font but in a sharper colour.
Fish Tank had many theatrical release posters and this one was a perfect example to show the different types of ways to dipslay recognition, reviews and awards.
In the top left are quotes and star ratings from well known sources. At the top right are 2 logos, 1 being a festival the film was showed at and the bottom is a WREATH showing off the win it had at the festival.
The landscape theatrical release poster for Submarine is very similar to Fish Tank but less cluttered.
This poster includes star ratings and review quotes again from well known sources.
At the bottom left are 4 wreath's presenting the awards the film has won but in a subtle way since they don't take up much space.
On my poster I will be included wreaths to show it's possible success at independent (mainly) British film festivals. As a group we decided to include quotes and star ratings within the trailer so to avoid cluttering up my minimal poster I will only be using award wreaths.
