For our trailer we split Mise en scene and applied all the categories to our trailer.

Costume:
Everyday: non-designer clothing to show working class background
Any colour of clothing, bluer tones can be added in editing
Audition: suit /if no suit a shirt, skinny jeans, smart shoes and a tie will do just fine.
Lighting:
Spotlight for audition in theatre
Natural lighting for college scenes
Torch light flares for night time outside footage
Low key/high key lighting for bedroom scenes to cast natural depressing shadows
Sound: no dialogue-all narration
Own composition as background music.
Hair&makeup:
Everyday: makeup showing tiredness - blue and purple eyeshadow used under the eye and in the socket can show tiredness.
Messy hair (restless nights no sleep)
Audition: slick hair and wide awake, trying to make the best impression he can.
Colour:
Cool tones to show emotion and create a dull atmosphere.
No switching between colour and black & white footage because it will disrupt the flow of the trailer and create the wrong impression.
Cinematography:
Decanted angles to show disorientation and him flipping out to show his anger issues.
Panning and tracking shots to keep up with the fast pace anger reactions.
Establishing shots to set up the different settings and locations, and to show emptiness to imply his isolation from others.
Fades to black
Major series of jump cuts to make time go past quickly.
