Research & Planning: Social Media Communication 2
Myself and Aisha got thinking about the sort of typography we would use for our own trailer title and the end credits, we ended up drawing inspiration from Whiplash to use a clean simple font.

Research & Planning: Reviews and Quotes + Font Experimentation
I created a Powerpoint presentation including made up quotes and reviews that could be including in our trailer along with some simple typeface experiementation.
The second Screenshot from the Powerpoint shows me looking at different fonts and thicknesses.
To start I found a font that was similar to the one they use in Submarine and then I consulted with the girls in my group and we decided that the text shouldn't be so square and we should be using a Sans-Serif font. Before we chose to completely get rid of the boxy letters we tried Times New Roman again which is an average font but works well but we still agreed that this was too old-fashioned to go with our trailer which is why we ended up choosing Century Gothic because it is thin in weight and a clean cut easy to read font in capital letters.

Research & Planning: Reviews and Credits Research: Submarine
Submarine: Reviews and Credits
As a group we knew we needed to create some reviews to sell the trailer to possible viewers, so we took to looking at other social realism films to create some. For this post I looked at Submarine. They include quotes from Empire, The Los Angeles Times and The Telegraph. We will use these institutions in our reviews and make some quotes to sound relevant to our trailer.
Along with review quotes we will need a title like the above, so we have decided on a font that is clean cut, crisp and nothing to extravagant. We will apply a drop shadow to this title to correspond with the rest of the text in the trailer.
Lastly we wil need finishing credits. We will be using the Steel Tongs font to create the different roles and filling in the names the same as we have done on our film posters.

Research & Planning: Makeup Analysis
Since our characters are playing themselves, what they would wear a regular basis is perfectly fine.
Our main character wouldn't need makeup as he wouldn't wear it regularly anyway.
Gary our interviewer wouldn't wear makeup usually, but to make him look "smarter" he will be wearing glasses.
Jayne our music teacher/tutor wouldn't normally wear much makeup as she is a full time teacher and has other things to do with her mornings than sit down and apply a full face of makeup, but in order for her to look more awake and alert she will wear some mascara to open up her eyes more.
Other students:
The male students again wouldn't be wearing makeup because they wouldn't usually, but some of the female students decide to wear makeup some don't.
In our scenes the only females that wear makeup are Hannah and Laura.
Hannah as she has a slightly alternative mix-match fashion sense will be wearing winged eyeliner but nothing else, as this expresses her creativity in the simplest form.
Laura on the other hand will sport natural makeup, smooth skin, mascara and a pink lip colour. This in turn will make her look more awake and show she has spent some time getting ready in the morning in order to look after herself.

-Smart dress shoes
-Parka coat
-Simple clothing e.g. Jeans, trainers, t-shirts and hoodies
-Rucksack
Our character is simply playing himself so his clothing that he would wear to college on a day to day basis is perfect for our character as long as it has no immediate and obvious branding showing expense.
We also came up with a costume list for other characters in our trailer:
STUDENTS:
-Own clothing they would wear college, can have branding to show different economic backgrounds
GARY:
Smart/Casual clothing, Music teachers tend to be more relaxed and less strict than the majorly academic subjects, meaning that a shirt and a cardigan would appropriate, or a shirt and jeans. The combination of smart and casual is what we are looking for.
(Extra character if needed, in the end we didn't use this character)
JAYNE:
Smart/Casual clothing. Jayne is a music teacher but also a tutor for other subjects as well meaning that she deals with the academic, so smart trousers, and a simple blouse would be appropriate for her role.
